Being Bengali by mind and heart: The great unruly!

Batighar is a theatre group connected to the conventional drama movement like any other theatre group. We have not been able to make much difference with any other group yet, but we want to and try our best to stay as relevant as possible. We maintain distance from traditional drama production. We strongly restrain ourselves from falling into the traditional greed of doing drama after drama just for the sake of doing. We want to do drama that are relevant and necessary considering the time.

Society is changing, life continues to flow. The story of the flow of life is meant to change. The changed situation and the changing flow of time drives us all. We want to hold that beauty of change by our heart and mind.

Comparatively new group, even more new are its members. Our work has both created discussions and criticisms and it should do so. But we have no stinginess in our effort and devotion.

Although, Batighar is a theatre group of drama, but our activities are not only limited to drama productions. For the sake and need of society and time, Batighar wants to keep itself connected to all kinds of social activities. Batighar wants to stay connected to all form of truth and beauty. May this movement of truth and beauty continue forever. May this world be illuminated by the light of truth and beauty.

Work description of Batighar: With the slogan “we will be enlightened human beings by the current of free spirit”, creative young minds of this group started their journey of cultural movement together in 11th June’ 2012. Late playwright Khaled khan Juboraj joined in the journey to inspire and motivate the young members with his directions and named the group “Batighar”. Batighar is a completely liberal and unpolitical drama organization.

Batighar has successfully participated in various cultural activities since its formation. Notable activities among them are mentioned below.
